Prolonged stress caused a range of health issues for our bodies as well as our skin! Have you ever noticed when your stressed your skin breaks out in acne or becomes excessively oily or dry? This is because internally stress affects hormones which in turn affects our skin!

This is what sequencing for my Stretch & Recover class looks like.
I play music I love that makes me want to move my body, I consider what’s going on in the world and our community, and I craft a sequence. This week is deep and intuitive. Deep because Jordan Rakei, Frank Ocean, and Rhye have permeated my entire soul all week. Intuitive because there are a lot of assholes out there, and turning inward towards the heart to remember compassion and who you are is a great way to not turn into one of them. I remember saying to a student who was protecting herself against someone being an ass to her that she wanted to fight: “There are a lot of assholes in the world—your work is to decide whether you’ll become one of them.” This was my work this week when confronted with one such person. I volleyed between stepping into the ring and meeting her with compassion. The pugilist in me was at odds with my inner yogi. Yin and yang were deep in battle, and each had a win. Ultimately, I let it go and moved on. This person has clear issues and a lot of work to do on a deep soul level. And so do I. All of us do. The difference is CHOICE. How I choose to engage is to get out of reaction and into co-creation. That choice is made clearer as I calm the vrittis and focus my gaze on bigger, higher vibration thoughts and energy. I mentioned this story in class today while students were in King Arthur—I love to story tell while in challenging postures for a long time (hello, yin). After class, one of my quiet and gentle spirit older yoga students came to me, put her hand on my back and breathed with me. After delivering a beautiful energetic assist, she said very sweetly, “You don’t have to fix all the dicks.” 😂😂😂😍😍😍🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🤣🤣🤣🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🤩🤯😵😵☠️ Our deep and intuitive practice continues tomorrow.
