#CreativeEyeAlert : Swanky utility ceramic wear by @ceramicsbypriyankajoshi
Pottery and Ceramic in some way or the other are related to our everyday life. Right from the Coffee mug we choose in the morning to the vase we place our favourite flowers in or to the dish we sought to while having our meal, all these tiny components absorb our memories with every touch and become the objects for stories to be told, desires to be fulfilled or memories to be relieved.
In short these ceramic works or art and utility become a part of us. This is what drives Priyanka Joshi, a studio potter now based in Bavdhan, Pune to make her artistic ceramic work blur the boundaries between function and aesthetics.
Priyanka Joshi decided to pursue her career in pottery creating beautiful works of art with a passion for precision and attention to detail, aiming to make her art both physically as well as visually appealing. Her pottery and ceramic work are elements inspired by art, architecture, nature's raw grandeur and mankind's modernity.
Her work ranges from the ancient terracotta vessels depicting stories and love of life to the opulent baroque churches, mystical gold mosaics, graceful stucco works and the delightful swirls of coloured slips applied by skillful hands. She loves to explore new techniques and apply them to her future pieces. The ceramic plates, bowls, vases and art pieces by Priyanka are surely the must haves on your kitchen counters or living room slowly seeping into your heart!
