November 16 - your motivation
This one is simple yet complicated. Life. Life is my motivation. I love being alive and enjoying the life I love every step of the way. I have the ability to live a healthy life with a treatable disease that does not hold me back from everything I am capable of doing & being. Rough days? Absolutely. Tears? Damn right. Angry screams? I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have those. But it’s mostly positive in my book!
I couldn’t be motivated by my life if it weren’t for the support system I have behind me every step of the way. My family, friends, cats, coworkers, diabetic community...the list goes on & on. I chose a gorgeous picture of the city of Pittsburgh taken by Dave DiCello. It’s the place I was born in, grew up in, & still reside in. I’m lucky to live in an incredible, beautiful city. How could I not be motivated to continue living my own beautiful life in a place like this? 😊💙

Insulin is a very important hormone that is produced by the body to regulate many metabolic functions. Insulin regulates how the body uses and stores fats and glucose inside our cells.
In patients with diabetes, insulin sensitivity and production may be severely impaired resulting in hyperglycemia. Exogenous insulin injections may be required for those who have impaired insulin production to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
There are many types of insulin formulations in the market place and they differ mainly in how fast they work and the duration they exert their effects. There are essentially four types of insulin; rapid-acting, short-acting, intermediate-acting and long-acting.
Humalog, Novolog, and Apidra are rapid-acting insulins which start exerting their effecting within 15 minutes, have a duration between 1 to 5 hours and should ideally be injected 10-15 minutes before a meal.
Humulin and Novolin are short-acting and they start working within 60 minutes and have a longer duration lasting 6 to 8 hours. These should administer 20-30 minutes before meals.
NPH insulin is the intermediate-acting insulin which starts working in 1-2 hours and has a duration of action between 14 - 20 hours. NPH is usually injected as a twice daily dosing and is often combined with either a rapid or short-acting insulin. .
Lantus, Levemir and Tresiba are long acting insulins which start working within in 1 to 2 hours and have a long duration of action lasting up to 36 hours. Long acting insulins are usually combined with a rapid- or short-acting insulin to provide adequate glycemic control. The selection of which type of insulin or combination of insulin depends on each patient’s individual needs and lifestyle.

Birçok il ve birçok eczanede aynı cevap alan kişiler evet %100 budur diyemeyiz ama işte yorumlar umarım böyle bir durum yaşanmaz 🙏🏻❗️ #novorapid#lantus
