🚨💿New Album Alert 💿🚨:
•TRACK: The Chase ft. Kadhja Bonet @kadhjabonet
•ARTIST: Anderson .Paak @anderson._paak
•VIBE: that retro soul, dark funk, cacoohany creating, prickly, introspective, questioning, bass beast, evolving paak type vibe
Wahhhh! Anderson .Paak's new album Oxymoron is out and I'm loving it. Its out there and so familiar at the same time. Constantly pushing the bounds of funk, .Paak now ventures into a brooding funk and retro soul type vibe. The smoothness of his previous works is replaced by grittiness and cacoohanies that form a more realistic picture of the society and problems that he is trying to shed some light on.
6 Summers is a solid, ominous protest song referring to gun violence and Donald Trump. This Dr. Dre produced album has some serious heavy hitters on it including Tints with none other than Kendrick. The dark funk that comes through this price of work is reminiscent of Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. @drdre@kendricklamar
Still some feel good funk but take a minute, appreciate the song, listen and pay attention to the lyrics and you'll start to dissect the deeper meaning.
