This sweater is amazing!! My husband bought me a Nordstrom gift card for my birthday and I decided to use it at Nordstrom Rack cause it’s way more bang for your back. For example, this sweater was only $25!! Yes you read that right. Now go get one for yourself! 😃 Sweater is linked in bio. It’s almost sold out so I’m also linking a very similar one that’s on sale for $23 and has tons of sizes available!

Before you judge whoever left this camp: the police probably forced them to leave & the bears & other animals probably messed it up in search of food.
I live very near a place called Railtown where folks passing through or who want to live here but can’t afford housing make camps.
They are all currently abandoned, I haven’t heard or seen anyone in a long time. They all looked like this.
Some summers I hear laughter & singing at night & when I walk nearby on my way to the lake it looks like a real community.
But it isn’t “legal”, so periodically & seemingly randomly, the police tell everyone to leave. They often can’t or don’t have time to take their belongings with them.
The local homeless shelter where I used to work often doesn’t have the available beds or the ability to house everyone who needs it due to lack of infrastructure (funded by the gov) to support folks coping with more severe mental health issues & disabilities. There is no place for them, & when they try to make one for themselves they’re torn apart every time—in every town I’ve ever lived in.
We have to do more to create, support & call out for Real affordable housing & supportive living. Or at least camping villages that are sanctioned & have clean water & garbage pick up. A Lot of folks are trying to hold down jobs & be healthy while living this way. Some are parents. The person living here had diabetes (needles & insulin packs) & maintained a nice camp with a garbage can, kitchen area & decorative things.
One last thing: when you see someone picking up garbage in the woods, or in parks, scavenging at garbage dumps (when still allowed) or anywhere else— maybe if you’re one to scowl in disgust or judge what you assume to be their “lifestyle”—you might consider that maybe they’re just doing what they can with what they can, that they find litter really upsetting or that they are an artist, scavenger, recycler, or really into repurposing. 🌿💚🌿 #homelessness#scavengers#litterpickers#litter#affordable housing #repurpose
