I often say to my students, my clients, my kids in a crisis look for the helpers, there will always be someone who wants to help.
So last night I discovered 2 things there are indeed those who want to and will help and there are those who are just inconvenienced by someone’s vulnerability.
I was driving down one of the busiest one way systems in London when out of the blue with no sign no warning my car stopped dead in the road.
I could not get it stared. I put the hazards on and called for the AA I was told over a hours wait, what followed was chose.
By breaking down I had caused a tailback, a very long one.
People were not happy!
People were horning and shouting at me, even passers by said move your car and when I told them I have broken down they laughed and said lucky you.
What followed left me humbled and amazed 2 cars pulled up behind a few young men got out and asked if we needed help. I said I had called recovery and between them they tried to help.
A female taxi driver stopped saw me surrounded by a group of young men and asked if I was ok, do I need help and I said no thank you I’m fine she said no I’m going to stop my taxi in front of you and help.
She stopped for a while and was assured that these young men were actually helping and left.
These young men could not help and left.
Another young man came along and he pushed the car into a safe place one that was not blocking the traffic.
So you see there are selfless people out there who want to and will help in time off need.
You don’t need to suffer in silence....I know as women we think we are super women but sometimes a moment like that reminds you that we do need people and we need to be the helpers just as others are the helpers.
To the taxi driver and you young men....thank you.
And the guy that pushed the car - you gave me courage to drive through something that I was fearful off...what if I loose control, what if I can’t stop... he said you will be fine.
Courage well that’s contagious...Thank you!
So today I spend my day trying to fix this a small part that stopped such a big machine from working.
Warning: long, touchy-feely, gushy post about to take place. Why? Because I need to just pause and say thank you to everyone in my life who makes a difference. I want to appreciate everything I have and everything I don’t have in my life.
After spending most of the day unable to take a deep breath because there’s been lots of hard to deal with ‘stuff’ going on lately & the stress of it all as been tough to work through, things miraculously took an unexpected turn for the better. 🙌🏻
3 random acts of kindness took place from different people I know, yet I doubt they know what a profound impact their acts had on me. These people took time out of their day to let me know they cared about me in one way or another. Mind you, they have no idea of my recent challenges, so it’s not as if they were trying to cheer me up, they just genuinely care. Plain and simple. They care.
So why am I sharing this? Because I want to pay it forward. I want to be the one who makes a difference in someone else’s day, the reason why their day goes from crappy to not so bad. If I can make just 1 person feel a little better, smile a little brighter, have a little more hope, then I too will smile a little brighter and my heart will be happy.
The attitude of gratitude. May you welcome it with open arms & embrace the sh*t out of it.
My heart continues to break for the people of Paradise, Magalia & Concow as they await news of if their homes have been destroyed by the #campfire.😢 My parents recently purchased a house in Paradise CA. Fortunately they were in the process of remodeling it so they had not made the move up north yet. They don't know if their home has been destroyed or not, but our loss is very minimal compared to those that lived there and had their whole lives in their homes!
We had the pleasure of spending time in Paradise in the last few months. A very beautiful town that we had started to make memories in. A deep rooted town with generations of families! A town full of kind and welcoming people. A HUGE Rock painting community!!! We found our first painted rock ever at Billie Park. Please check out Butte County Rocks and Paradise ROCKS on Facebook.
EBLoveRocks will be working on rocks to take up to Paradise with us when #calfire allows us to go back in and check on my parents house. I'm planning on leaving them at the sites of burned homes and businesses, I want to leave something inspirational at the source of so much pain! If you've made it to the end of this thank you for taking the time to read it!
We recently had the pleasure and honor of being a part of a SEVENTH George to the Rescue episode! Check out some photos from the delivery and reveal days and don’t forget to watch the episode when it airs in the Spring of 2019!

One thing I’ve worked on over the last couple years is better understanding people and why they do things. Makes you realize that sometimes the angriest and meanest people are really just the ones that need your positivity the most #1aweek
